Approaching on public road:
The city can be approached on two directions, on the route 84 and from Austria. Those that are coming on the route 84: You have to take a left at the first traffic circle by the Tesco, after that you should go strait till the next traffic circle and you have to go straight till the first traffic light on the Csengery street. At the traffic light you have to take a right turn (that will be the Street Mátyás király). You have to go strait till the end of this street and you have to change your lane to the one that is on your left, at that time you will be at the Széchenyi square. The Szechenyi square has a one-way street So You have to take a left turn and by the first crossing (there is the Liszt Ferenc Conference Centrum)you should turn to right. At that time you reached the historical downtown. At the first opportunity you have to turn to right, that street will be the Street Fegyvertár that will lead you to the Orsolya square. The Hostel Palatinus is easily recognizable by that time.
Those that are coming from Austria: You have to take the first few kilometers straight till you will find an information panel that will lead you to turn right. At that point you should turn to right to the Road Lackner Kristóf. You will pass the Sopron Plaza, go straight till the first traffic circle (there will be a Shell gas station) and You have to go straight again. By the Interspar you will reach an other traffic circle and again you have to go straight at the end of this street there will be a traffic light. There is a road called Ogabona Tér that is a one-way road. So at this traffic light you implicitly have to turn right, go straight on the left lane and by the Petőfi Színház you have to turn left to the parking place. On the other side of the parking spot there is a small street (next to the Casino Sopron)you have to go on that way. At the end of this street you have to turn left at that time you will find yourself in the historical downtown. At the first opportunity you should turn right that will be the Street Fegyvertár that will lead you to the Orsolya square, than you can find the Hostel Palatinus.
Approaching by train:
Railway schedule
The railway station is about 7 minutes away from the Hostel. At the time you step out from the building of the station you have to go straight on the Street Állomás. The street will have an other name after the crossing it is called Street Mátyás király. You have to go straight till the Szechenyi square. Than you have to go till the store on the left side that is called S-market that is right in the beginning of the Várkerület, next to this store turn to left go straight till the end of this street there will find you a hause called Cezar pince. Turn left and you will get to the orsolya square. Go under the arcade and you will fing the Hostel Palatinus.
Approching by bus:
Bus schedule
The bus station is around 8-10 minutes walking away from the Hostel. If you arrived to the bus station go to the Street Lackner Kristóf. You have to go to the right than walk along this street till the end of it there you will find a Fountain that is shaped as a boy that is holding a barell. Go to this fountain an turn to right and take the sidewalk that is on the left side(go next to the shopwindows and restaurant). Go straight till you will reach the Casino Sopron there will be a small street on the left it is called Street Liszt Ferenc. Go straight on this road till its end and turn to left, than you will find yourself in the historical downtown. At the first opportunity (after about 10m) turn right (Street Fegyvertár) and go straight till the Orsolya Square. From this square you can see the Hostel Palatinus.
